Day 14: Slow & Painful Death by Consumption

One would have to be about 55 years old, or so, to associate a “Slow & Painful Death by Consumption” to the disease Tuberculosis.  But, that’s what TB was called years ago – before it was discovered that it was a communicable disease that could be cured with antibiotics.  It was called ‘consumption’ because it seemed to consume the body from within, with a bloody cough, fever, pale skin and, a long relentless wasting, as depicted by the Doc Holliday character in the movie Tombstone…  By the mid-19th century, sanatoriums were built to care for those afflicted with consumption – where a patient’s financial status determined the quality and level of care received.  Even though there has been a rise in the number of reported cases of TB in recent years, it’s doubtful that it will ever have the impact it once had.

It’s a different kind of Consumption that is cause for concern now.  It’s the Consumption driven by Capitalism – and, it’s the Consumption that drives Capitalism.  See, the minions have been brainwashed to consume, and consume we have…  In a relentless onslaught extracting the resources of this earth, to create an endless supply of meaningless crap that we’ve been convinced we need, so we’ll exercise our perceived ‘free choice’ to work for the money to purchase it, with the sole beneficiary being the ruling corporatocracy, we’re on course to Consume ourselves into oblivion.  Capitalism’s survival depends on growth and, there’s only two things that can ensure that growth:  Consumption and War.  And in order to meet those demands, more resources are Consumed – creating an unsustainable loop of need and greed – that will end with the resources having been exhausted and our earth left barren and contaminated, all in the name of the one true god, Money…

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to participate within and as the Capitalistic system with its relentless need to Consume resources, without care or consideration of the impact on the ecosystem that is our mother earth.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to participate within and as a money system whose basic foundations are:  greed, self-interest, and forsaking all responsibility to this physical reality.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to be a part of a system that idolizes money over life.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to participate in a system that doesn’t care if the air, earth and water resources of our planet are contaminated in the process of making a profit.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to participate within and as a system that fails to take into consideration the consequences of the constant Consumption of our earth’[s resources.

I commit myself to prepare myself to take responsibility for myself and stand as a co-creator of a world that’s best for all, and supporting the implementation of the Equal Money System, where the value of money IS Life, and all will be guaranteed a life of dignity…
